WAEC GCE Registration Form 2017 (Nov/Dec) Is Out

The 2017 WAEC GCE registration form for November/December WASSCE (Private) exams is out. This is to inform candidates interested in sitting for the exam that WAEC GCE November/December 2017 registration form is out on sale and registration will start on Friday, 28th April, 2017. Registration can be done by following the procedures outlined later on in this post.

To avoid unnecessary mistakes during WAEC GCE 2017 Registration, the West African Examinations Council released a registration guideline for candidates. Candidates are encouraged to follow these set instructions and guidelines to enable a hitch-free online registration. Please ensure you have captured your biometric fingerprints, scanned your passport and captured other personal details before you continue registration. See 2017 WAEC GCE Registration steps below;

Instructions and Guidelines For WAEC GCE 2017 Registration (November/December)

  1. LOGIN
    Candidates applying for the 2017 November/December WAEC GCE are to start their Registration by enrolling their fingerprints and capturing other personal details using the Biometric Data Capture software. Click here to download if you have a fingerprint scanner or visit any Registration Centre with such facilities to scan your fingerprints. Ensure your Surname, First name and other names are captured using the software
  2. BIO DATA
    You are required to enter your bio data which includes Gender, Disability, Marital Status, Maiden Name (if applicable), Date of Birth, Nationality and State of Origin. Note that your name must not be more than 40 characters, this includes spaces between the surname, first name and other name. Please select NONE for disability information if you are not disabled
  3. UPLOADING OF PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH
    You are required to upload your scanned passport size photograph with a white background. The photograph must be a recent one and must be in Joint Portable Exchange (jpg) format. Note that the photograph you upload will be printed on your photocard and certificate.
  4. CONTACT INFORMATION
    You are required to supply your contact information which includes telephone, email, residential address, residential city, residential state, postal address, city and state. Note that Telephone number is compulsory since it would be used to contact the candidate should the need arise.
  5. SELECTION OF PREFERRED EXAMINATION TOWN
    You are required to select the state and town you wish to write the examination. The exact centre will be automatically assigned to you by the system. Please note that you cannot change your examination  town after submission
  6. SUBJECTS SELECTION
    English Language and Mathematics have been automatically selected for you because they are compulsory subjects for all candidates sitting for the 2016 West African Examination Council GCE. You are required to select the other subjects you wish to register for in this examination. Please note that a minimum of Seven (7) and a maximum of Nine (9) subjects are allowed (English Language and Mathematics inclusive).
  7. DECLARATION
    You are required to read the declaration section carefully and check or tick the checkboxes before submitting your form. You cannot proceed unless you have done this.
  8. SUBMITTING REGISTRATION
    Once you have completed the online WAEC GCE registration form, you are required to click the ACCEPT button after which a preview of your details will be displayed. You are required to review your application at this stage and click the EDIT button if you desire to make any modification. You should click the SAVE button if you want to save your application and still be able to come back and modify it. Note that you can only modify up to 3 times. Click the SUBMIT button if you want to submit your application. NOTE that you will no longer be able to modify your application once you click the SUBMIT button.
  9. PRINTING OF ADMISSION NOTICE/PHOTO CARD
    On successful completion and submission of your registration form, the system will allocate a centre to you and generate your examination number. You should then print  the admission notice/photo card. Note that this document will be required before you are allowed into the examination hall.

How to Register for WAEC GCE 2017

After obtaining the registration PIN, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.ng for registration. Candidates should also note that registration has been designed to accommodate for biometric features that will be used for validations at the exam centers.

Candidates must conclude their registration within 2 weeks of first access to the website during the registration period. They should ensure that their names, gender, passport photograph, date of birth and subjects are correct. They are also to print the admission notice/photo card as evidence of successful registration. This will serve as their photo card during examination. The result checker PIN will also be on the photo card. Only Digital Personal Scanner should be used for fingerprint registration.

Walk-in Candidates:

Candidates who wish to register for WAEC GCE after close of entries can be accommodated as walk-in candidates provided they register not less than 24 hours before the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write. The walk-in-candidates’s fee is Twenty Five Thousand Naira (N25,000) only.

Mode of Payment for WAEC GCE Registration

Candidates who register for WAEC November/December exams within the normal registration period are expected to pay a sum of Thirteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Naira only (N13,950) at branches of any of the following banks or any of the accredited agents and obtain the registration PIN and information VCD.

Candidates with Disabilities and Impairments

Candidates with disabilities/impairments will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their disabilities/impairments, e.g. blind, low vision, spastic, speech, etc.

Registration Closing Date

The closing date for WAEC GCE registration for 2017 November/December  is Friday, 28th July, 2017. Endeavor to complete your application before this date. The normal registration period is from Friday 28th April to Friday, 28th July, 2017.
